What are the main new features of the New TM7
Design and Aesthetics:
The TM7 introduces a sleek, all-black design. It is black because all of the plastic that is not in contact with food is made of a high percentage recycled materials.
Sustainability is super important to us!
It features softer, more rounded lines and cause it doesn’t have the back and sides like older models, it has a more modern, minimalistic appearance that many find less imposing in the kitchen.
The TM7 features a gorgeous iPad-like 10inch touchscreen which replaces the physical knob found on the TM6 and TM5. This along with onscreen ingredient icons, recipe step and tutorial photos and videos makes it more intuitive.
The glass screen is reinforced so it’s very hardy and it works even when wet (for example water or food dripping onto the screen when removing the Varoma double steamer)
Performance and Features:
Under the hood, the TM7 has been almost entirely re-engineered, with all components except the mixing blade being newly developed. It’s notably quieter than the TM6, addressing a common complaint about noise during high-speed operations.
It is actually virtually silent up until speed 4 - you can just hear the ingredients!
The TM7 introduces new cooking capabilities, such as "open cooking" (allowing cooking without the lid), which wasn’t possible with previous models.
Up until speed 2, You can also take off the lid and the whole bowl without having to wait for it to be unlocked. Speed 2.5 and over initiates the locking mechanism (which is operated via magnets)
Capacity and Attachments:
The mixing bowl size remains 2.2 litres in both models, but the TM7’s bowl design includes safety improvements like an insulated cover and a knife-locking lever. A major upgrade is the Varoma (steaming attachment), which is 40% larger in the TM7 and features a more efficient, non-oval shape for better heat distribution and steaming performance. This enhances cooking capacity for larger meals, a feature many TM6 users have requested. The TM7’s new platform design also hints at future compatibility with different bowl sizes or attachments, though this is still speculative.
The cutter (for slicing, grating and spiralising) is now available to purchase separately (the TM6/TM5 cutter is not compatible because of the locking mechanism)
The blade cover peeler attachment (sold separately) can be used in TM5, TM6 and TM7.
Connectivity and Ecosystem:
Both the TM6 and the TM7 integrate with the Cookidoo recipe platform, but the TM7 takes it further with features like "Recipe Handover" (transferring recipes from your smartphone to the device) and "Digital Twin" visuals on the screen, showing real-time steps and status updates. The TM7 also promises regular software updates and potential AI enhancements (I am currently part of the testing cohort!), ensuring it stays current longer. The TM6, while Wi-Fi enabled and updateable, doesn’t offer the same level of interactivity or future-proofing.

No, the Thermomix TM7 does not have a bigger bowl than the TM6. Both models feature a mixing bowl with a capacity of 2.2 litres, which is well-suited for most household cooking needs. However, the TM7 introduces a new design for the bowl, which includes an insulated plastic cover and a knife-locking lever at the bottom. This updated design not only enhances safety and usability but also appears to have been crafted with future enhancements in mind.
While the current bowl size remains the same as the TM6, the new design suggests that Thermomix may be planning for potential upgrades, such as accommodating different bowl sizes or additional types of attachments in the future. This is currently just conjecture, but it seems to indicate an intent to allow for greater flexibility and innovation with the TM7 platform down the line. For now, the TM7’s bowl maintains the same capacity but offers improved features like insulation and quieter operation, making it a refined version of its predecessor while leaving room for future developments.
Additionally, the Varoma (steaming attachment) in the TM7 is 45% bigger than in the TM6, significantly enhancing its cooking capacity for steaming tasks. The total capacity is 6.8 litres)
The Varoma also features a more efficient shape, moving away from the oval design of the TM6 to improve functionality and heat distribution. This upgrade makes the TM7 an even more versatile option for steaming, complementing its other advanced features.

If you already own a recent TM6, the upgrade might not be urgent as you can cook the vast majority of recipes and this model will remain a super high quality option for many years to come (and will be serviced for many years)
However there are some significant improvements with TM7 including quieter operation, larger Varoma, more sleek and modern design. But for me the interface is a massive upgrade - it feels like an ipad to use and everything is very visual from pictures of ingredients to high quality video to explain more complex steps.
Also the new locking mechanism means i can remove the lid and the whole bowl immediately up to speed 2 - this speeds things up in a busy kitchen.
And finally, open top cooking means that I can prepare delicate dishes like noodle soup and Isles Flotant (because the blades don’t move) and also I can reduce sauces and stocks more evenly.
The TM6 remains an incredible machine, with ongoing updates keeping it relevant. However, if you’re buying your first Thermomix or your current model is older (like a TM5 or earlier), the TM7 offers a future-proof investment with its advanced tech and ecosystem. For those who value the latest innovations, the TM7 is a worthwhile leap forward.

There are currently no plans to produce the TM7 in any other colour. This is because we have tried to make as much of the outer casing as possible from recycled materials.

The Thermomix TM7 is an all in one smart kitchen appliance that combines more than twenty different cooking functions into a single machine.
It can chop, blend, cook, steam, knead dough, weigh ingredients, sauté, slow cook, and even guide you through recipes step by step.
The latest model, the Thermomix TM7, also connects to an enormous digital recipe platform called Cookidoo, which means the machine can guide you through more than 100,000 recipes on its touchscreen.
Think of it as a very clever sous chef that never complains, never steals a chip from the tray, and never leaves the kitchen looking like a bomb site!

Short answer. Quite a lot.
A Thermomix can:
Chop vegetables
Blend soups and smoothies
Steam fish, vegetables and dumplings
Cook risotto and sauces
Knead bread and pizza dough
Make ice cream and sorbet
Grind spices and coffee
Mill flour from grains
Weigh ingredients as you add them
Cook full meals using guided recipes
Many people buy it for one thing such as soup or baking, then discover they are suddenly making hummus, curry paste, fresh nut butter and lemon curd on a Tuesday evening for no reason whatsoever.tem description

For many people, yes.
A Thermomix can replace or reduce the need for:
Food processor
Blender
Soup maker
Kitchen scales
Bread maker
Stand mixer
Rice cooker
Slow cooker
Ice cream maker
It does not replace everything of course (step away from my coffee machine!!)
You will also still want an oven (or air fryer), a frying pan and possibly a toaster unless you are planning to eat soup for breakfast which I actually do sometimes!
